Good Day ,

With warm heart I offer my friendship, and my greetings, and I hope this letter meets you in good time. It will be surprising for you to receive this proposal from me since you do not know me personally. However, I am sincerely seeking your confidence inthis transaction, which I propose with my free mind and as a person of integrity.

My name is CHARLES WAKARA, the son of late Dr.Michael uzah WAKARA , a black farmer based in Zimbabwe who was murdered in the land dispute in Zimbabwe. I decided to contact you through email, after searching for contacts via the internet, as it is the only means I can contact anybody since I am cutting off ties with Zimbabwe for security and safety reasons. However,I apologize if this is not acceptable to you.

The purpose of this letter is to seek your most needed assistance in a business venture. Due to the the land and political problems in Zimbabwe, as a result of President Robert Mugabe's introduction of new Land Act Reform wholly affecting the rich white farmers and the few rich black farmers, and his desire to hold on to power for life, my father forsaw the danger that came in Zimbabwe.

Before he was murdered, he withdrew all of our business foreign accounts in dollars and sold up our shares in major companies. We then transfered to Abidjan, Ivory Coast the sum of US$ 8.5 million (Eight million, Five Hundred Thousand US dollars), since it was hard to tranfer this money directly to britain or any other European country due to fear of having our money being siezed by to United State Government due to the terrorist network going on in most Muslim countries today.

President Mugabe's support for the violent Zimbabwean war veterans and some lunatics in the society, led to the murder of my beloved father and other innocent lives. I was continually threatened to abandon my inheritance from my father after he was murdered.I rested for a while, but when the danger became unbearable, and after I survived two murder attempts, I fled Zimbabwe.

I am currently staying now in Abidjan where I am seeking political asylum. In fact my decision to come here to seek asylum, is because of this money that my father lodged in a Commercial Bank here. I need to transfer this money to an account and invest p art of this money.

I am seeking a genuine and reliable partner, whose account this money can be transferred, hence this proposal to you. You have to understand that this decision taken by me entrusts my future in your hands, as a result of the safe keeping of this money.

For your assistance, I have (2)two options for you. (Firstly) You can choose to have 10% of the money for your assistance, and helping me open an account for the money to be transfer to your country. (Secondly) You can go into partnership with me for the proper profitable investment of the money in your country in a 90% / 10% shares bases.

Whichever the option you want, please try to notify me in your reply. Please, I want you to maintain the absolute secrecy for the purpose ofthis transaction. I look forward to your reply and co-operation, and I thank you in advance as I anticipate your co-operation.

Sincerely,

CHARLES WAKARA

finally,i would want you to draw up an agreement of partnership puting into consideration your share percentage and my own share percentage, considerring the factor also that you have to help for my resettlement with my small sister.that no body feels cheated when the fund is finally confirmed into your designated bank account, and you give me access to my own share percentage when the fund is transfered into your bank account in your country.

thanks for your quick response,i will go to the bicici bank first thing tomorrow morning to submit the details you sent to me today.be rest assured that the fund transfer will be risk free, but most of the documents for the fund transfer will have to be stamped at the high court here, and affidavit sworn since you will not be present here to do it yourself as the beneficiary of the fund and as my late father business partner.an attorney will be procured who will do all this for us including the legalisation of the fund transfer documents from the ministry of finance here by a good attorney.

please go on and draw the agreement of understanding as soon as possible,do not forget to include my small sisters name deborah.i promise that the transfer will be smooth and no problem will arise,as the documents for the fund transfer have to be signed by the appropriate quarters.i will be expecting the agreement by the weekend because the bank is going to contact you by next week.

dear alex,

the fund deposit slip is the document given to my late father on the day of the deposit of the fund at the bicici bank.i sent it to you for you to go through it incase if the bank here ask you about any thing in it.

do not take it to your bank manager, you have to keep it to yourself to show that actually you are the business associate to my late father dr micheal uzah wakara,of zimbabwe.

the bank will contact you by next week because i have submited your banking details to them for approval and fund transfer.please let me know when ever the bank contacts you.the deposit slip is for you to keep, remember it is a vital instrument,so please do not allow it to get into another hand,so that that person does not claim the fund before it is transfered into your given account.

take note of the account number in the slip, and date of deposit,it is important when they call you.any time the bank contacts you,try and let me know before you can do any thing so that i can direct you effectively.you have our number 22505662369,so you can call for quick actions.

best regards and god bless

dear sir,

the account number of my late father were the fund is deposited with the bicici bank is a/c 09550005809000.lodged code/deposit scblpascg, vid chip no/0568.

charles wakara is the son of late mr micheal uzah wakara ,the depositor of the fund at the bicici bank, from zimbawbe,a refugee in abidjan capital of ivory coast.

please sir your assistance is needed mostly now because i think very well the attorney will ask for a fee for his services now,so let us join hands to see that this fund is transfered out of this bank as soon as the attorney is through with the documents he is going to swore in at the court which will take one or two working days.as soon as the documents are submitted to the bank, the bank will with swift transfer the money into your designated bank account in london.i think that is the only money we have to spend in this transaction, that is the attorneys fee.all other things have been taking care of here by me and my sister.

dear alex you should also try and make sure that nothing is left unturned towards making sure that this fund is transfered as soon as possible.you can always reach me on my number 22505662369.my small sister extends her greetings to you .also make enquires for us on how we can be able to get over to london as soon as the money is in your local bank account, and also getting a place for us to stay, but you have to be confidential about the whole thing till the fund is firmly confirmed into your account.

best regards and god bless

dear alex,

thanks for your understanding, because all i have told you is the only truth of the fund transfer,i have asked the bank and they told me that the bank will not take any charges for transffering the fund into your local account in london, that as soon as the attorney is through with the documents, that the fund will be transfered to my late fathers foreign partners account in london.

all i need from you is honesty and steady fastness to make sure that this fund is transfered into your account ,i think that was why i asked you to draw an agreement,so that by the end you will take just your share percentage, and give us room to ours.this is all i have in mind for asking you to make an agreement, just to make sure that our money is in self hands.

the bank manager told me that this fund will be transfered to london under three days, and i was happy because he told me that it has to be through ktt,i dont know how possible that will be ,but all i know is that i have taken care of most contigencies here with out your help.

best regards and keep me informed .

all the best

Please accept my humble apologies for the delays, I hope you and Deborah are not too worried and I will see you in London soon.

Can you also confirm the name of the Western Union office that I am to send the money to please?

thanks for your wanting to know how we are.like you know this place is not like london it is a fucken third world country, lacking all good things of life.the situation here is poor and terrible and is nothing to write home about.

i would surely want to see your picture and where you stay, and i will send mine to you as well.please see that we conclude this fund transfer this week,so that by next week when you confirm the full amount in your account then you send money for me to come over to london,i know it will not take me time, what is my propblem here is money.please let me know how much you would want to send to the attorney so that i will also make mine own contribution like we discussed.

awaiting for your urgent response and happy to have you back because me and mine sister have been so worried.

Tue, 21 Oct 2003: Now I really have to pull out the stops. I send him 'my' pictures and try to convince him that he may have to pay some of the cash.

Charles,

Once again please accept my apologies for the problems with my account - I don't yet know what went wrong, but I have been assured that it won't happen again.

I'm very sorry to hear of the conditions that you are in - please be happy as your circumstances are about to change! We can have a fine time in London and I can show you the best places to eat and be merry.

The oath of affadavid will cost USD 8,500 - I was surprised to hear it was so much but your attorney (Stanley Kosongo) assured me it was because of the huge sum of money we are about to transfer. Thank you very much for offering to help with this, I do have about GBP 2,500 (about USD 5,800) in my savings account which I will use, but the rest will have to come from you into my account so that I can pay Mr. Kosongo.

Charles, we are about to lead very happy lives - I have attached a picture of my house and of me so that you can see what I look like and where I live - in Belgravia, London. Please send me one of you so that I can see what you look like, and also of Deborah your sister.

Don't be worried please as we can work together to fix this situation and to make sure it will work out for the best. I will contact Mr. Kosongo again, he gave instructions on how to transfer the money but I will need to wait until I hear from you how to proceed. I will send him the full amount once we can make up the $8,500. Make sure you let me know if everything's ok with you.

Best wishes and god bless you,

Be aware that I am finalising the money that I need to pay to you, I just need to get a friend of mine to send some moneys so that I have the full amount to pay you. I hope to have this money by the end of this week at the latest.

Once I have the money I will give you the transfer control number and you can send the oath of affidavid to the bank to complete the transfer.

Dear Mr King,

In regards to your email messages of yesterday, kindly note that the balance of the cost is the sum of U.S$6350.00.

In order to send a western union money transfer, all you need is to look for a western union office and inform them that you want to send money to your relative in Abidjan Cote D'Ivoire.

They will give you a form to fill the name of the sender (being your name) and the receiver (being my name Barrister stanley kosongo) in Abidjan Cote D'Ivoire, in that form you will be filling your name as the sender and my name as the receiver.

You will fill in a secret text question and answer which you will forward to me along with the transfer control number which your western union office will be giving you to forward to the receiver.

The office which you will be sending the money to is Western Union money transfer Abidjan.

Please kindly make sure that you send the balance as soon as possible to enable me meet up with my appointment with the court and the bank.

Yours faithfully,

Barrister Stanley Kosongo.

Wed, 22 Oct 2003: So I send a dumb response (wish I knew how Western Union works - their website's shit and clearly only used by criminals)

Dear Mr. Kosongo,

I am aware of the urgent nature of the need to complete this transaction, please be assured that I have the necessary money and will get it to you as soon as I can.

I was at my local Western Union agent today, and obtained a "To Send Money" form. However, the clerk was said that the address you supplied for the local agent (Western Union money transfer Abidjan) doesn't exist and that he would need an exact adddress. He suggested the following office:

Bicici
Quartier Commercial Rue De La Cathedrale
B.P. 1442 Daloa
Daloa
Cote D'Ivoire

Would this be suitable for you?

kind regards,

Alex King

Wed, 22 Oct 2003: Let's get Charles a bit of a shock by tell him his attorney is shit! Also let's have a bit of a move on with that picture!

Charles,

I hope you are well, and that you are not too worried about how things are going.

I have been trying to get your attorney's bill paid, however the information he gave me is wrong and this has led to delays in getting the oath of affadavid to the bank.

He is very courtious and nice, however I really think that this mission is too urgent to risk on an attorney who doesn't seem to be able to conduct his own payments properly. I wanted to suggest paying by credit card, but he seems to insist on using Western Union. He is also very slow in responding to my emails. I suggest my friend that you get a new attorney - perhaps they can do it better and cheaper than Mr. Kosongo.

Let me know what you think. I only want to make sure that you and Deborah can have a smooth and easy trip here to the UK without too many delays. Can you send me that picture of you and your sister where you live?

thanks and god bless,

Alex

Wed, 22 Oct 2003: Now I get Charles telling me a different(?) address! Can't find a reference to 'Deux Plateaux branch' anywhere on WU's website; this will give me a chance to stall Charles:

Date: Wed, 22 Oct 2003 16:50:53 +0200
Subject: from charles and deborah
From: "charles_wa" <charles_wa@libero.it>
To: "alex" <alex@wibble.to>
X-SenderIP: 213.136.97.73

dear alex,

the attorney contacted me and told me that you said that the western union money transfer address he gave you is not correct.

pay it this way.pay to barrister stanley kosongo western union money transfer, deux plateaux branch abidjan cote ivoire.because the attorney is living in abidjan the capital city of cote ivoire.then you send the control number and the text question and answer to him.tell them to send this this way it will get to him because western union have branches all over abidjan.

my picture and that of deborah we sent to you was the photo we took in our own country and not here in abidjan, there is alot of insecurity here now as you can hear from bbc and cnn.there is a rebel incurssion here for the past nine months now,and there are assasinations here and there, like this morning the director of the radio france was killed just like that, here is not like london were one can go to big shops and snap photos, now if you try taking picture now in your house, the government in power will think you want to send it abroad for the western world to know what is going on in abidjan.they have here a dictator in form of democracy, just like in my country zimbabwe were robert mugabe is also doing all he likes and puting people in jail even for public gathering,so it is the same thing with here now.do not worry alex i think by the special grace of god between now and next tuesday all will be over.

we are fine, but we really dont have enough to take care of ourself in the way we would want.my late father was very rich, but look at what we are passing through in this god forsaken country that knows no god.i and deborah are praying seriously that this fund transfer gets concluded by the end of the week.tell the western union what you want ,just do it the way i have stated it to you and he will get it.please make sure you send it to him between today and tomorrow so that he can start going to the bank for the transfer proper.

alex in this part of the world, credit card does not exist,i know it will sound odd to you but that is the only truth,i really want to get the hell out of this country.

we are looking for the day to see you face to face ,i think deborah wants to talk to you,but i dont know what, because this is a free world only that there is no liberty in africa.while my father was alife i have been in germany and holland,i will tell more when we meet.

finally go ahead and do it the way i have written to you.taking another attorney will mean to turn the clock back and start afresh.

best regards and god bless you.the almighty jehova will surely see us through.

charles and deborah

Thu, 23 Oct 2003: Now to stall Charles using the excuse of the confilicting addresses.

Charles,

I got another email from Mr. Kosongo this morning, but when I got yours I was confused. I went to the Western Union agent and checked the address for Mr. Kosongo (AVENUE FRANCHET D'ESPERREY) and it's ok.

However, the address you gave me (deux plateaux branch) doesn't exist. The man said the closest one was:

SNC FINANCES S.A.
SOCOCE 2 PLATEAUX BOULEVARD LAIRILLE
SOCOCE
ABIDJAN
COTE D'IVOIRE
Tel: (225 ) (22 ) 419347

Which one do you think I sould send to? I don't trust Mr. Kosongo as the information he is giving me is wrong and I don't want to risk this important mission and send the money to the wrong place, and I trust your judgement in this matter more than Mr. Konongo. If that happens, I don't have much more money left to send, and it will take time to recover from the wrong office - which will leave us with a delay at the court. Maybe we should use a different attorney, a little delay now might spare us a longer delay in the future?

Charles, I don't want to question you, but the picture of Deborah is taken by the sea - and Zimbabwe doesn't have any coast, so surely you must be mistaken, that picture must be taken in Cote D'Ivoire? I just mention it, because it's important to trust each other.

I will wait for your response to clarify what to do.

Who is Jehova?

God bless,

Alex

Mon, 27 Oct 2003 8:50am: Back in the office, this email to Charles will have to be good!

Charles,

Sorry for not calling or emailing, to tell you the truth Mary O'Kanta has been emailing me, telling me not to trust everyone in Ivory Coast and saying that you are not a man of honour. I told her that you can be trusted and that we are like brothers. I think she may be a mad woman. I apologise for not trusting you Charles, we have been in this too long to give up now.

I will go to the Western Union office this afternoon to transfer the remaining of that money for Barrister Kosongo. With the grace of god, I won't be too late for his court appointment. I feel bad that you and Deborah have been delayed too long already.

I hope you don't mind, but I have told my best friend about you and Deborah, and even shown him your sister's picture. He is very interested to meet her and would like you to tell her that his is a good man, and very wealthy as he owns several magazines, for example 'Cleveland Steamer Quarterly' which is quite popular here. His name is Phil McKracken, and I have enclosed a picture of him so that you may show Deborah his picture.

god bless and I will have the details for you a little bit later, once I have gone to my bank to withdraw the money.

Alex

Dear Mr. Kosongo,

I am sorry to have been out of contact until now. Please be assured that I am now ready to proceed to pay you the remainder of the fees that I owe you.

What date have you set for the court hearing? And how long will it take after that to get the bank to agree to send the money to my account here in London?

I have here the final Western Union address that I will send to:

SNC FINANCES S.A.
SOCOCE 2 PLATEAUX BOULEVARD LAIRILLE
SOCOCE
ABIDJAN
COTE D'IVOIRE

Once again apologies for the delays. Please let me know if I have missed the final date so that we can go about this some other way.

Charles,

Can you believe it, I went to the bank today and there was such a wait to get my money that by the time I went to the Western Union office it was closed.

I hope this does not jeopardise Mr. Kosongo's court case on Friday. I will email him in the morning once I have sent the money.

Alex

Tue, 28 Oct 2003 9:39am: Now here's the trick

Charles,

We have a problem. I took all the money from my account yesterday to pay Barrister Kosongo (GBP 3,750 which they tell me is equivalent to $6,350) and this morning I went early to the Western Union office in Whitechapel, London to make the payment. I attach a copy of the form which they gave me.

The problem is that now they want me to pay fees to them - of over GBP 90 which I cannot pay, as I only have GBP 12 left to cover my expenses over the next week or two. Can you help me? I pray that this will not delay our court hearing tomorrow as I am sure Mr. Kosongo will not take a smaller amount than the full money. The Western Union office told me to return with the form once I have the money to pay the fees.

Perhaps you could forward me a loan the money, I will pay you back as soon as I have all the money in my account, which Mr. Kosongo told me would take 72 banking hours. May god bless and protect you and Deborah.

i am so surprised to hear from you that you dont trust me and my sister, that singler statement brought me close to tears because all my life we were thaught how to be straight forward in whatever we are doing and whomever we are dealing with.i would like to inform you that i am a chip of the old block who respects all aspects of whom life.i have been to the city of munchen in germany and the city of denharg in holland,so i will tell you i have really mixed up in my life,if not for the untimely death of my father,i dont think we would have known, well that is by the way now since you have known the truth.

deborah was very excited with your friends photo, but was quick to add that is you that will determine every thing,i must tell you we would want to respect all aggrements reachead with you with out any problem.i want you to understand that my sister is a very beatiful black woman, and like i told you in one of my mails to you,i want a very responsible man who will marry her,so we put all this in your hands for now.

alex we are running out of pocket here and would not like to ask you money to feed,so i enjoin you to speed up the process of sending the money to the attorney so that the fund could be transfered into your bank account, and then you can send some money for us to go shopping and prepare ourself for travel.

Wed, 29 Oct 2003 8:18am: I don't know if I'll hear from him again, but may as well try. Do you like my 'PRTR code' invention?

Mr. Kosongo,

I tried calling you again last night, but again I could not get through.

I have transfered that money through, I pray that you can still go ahead with the court hearing today.

Amount: GBP 3,750

The transfer number is: 985 625 3628

And they also gave me a PRTR code - A/S200335721455438-B

The branch I have sent it to is:

SNC FINANCES S.A.
SOCOCE 2 PLATEAUX BOULEVARD LAIRILLE
SOCOCE ABIDJAN COTE D'IVOIRE.

Please let me know once you have verified this.

kind regards,

Alex King

Wed, 29 Oct 2003 11:15am: I wonder how many times I can get him to go back and forth to the Western Union office! Hahaha!

Mr. Kosongo,

I can confirm the "transfer number" which they gave me is 985 625 3628, there is also a "PRTR" code of A/S200335721455438-B. There is also a large TNTCN number on the receipt they gave me - I don't know if that is any use? It is 701-2255-65628.

Please telephone me on +44 70 31159988 if there are any problems. If I am away from my phone, please leave a message and I will get back to you straight away.

kind regards,

dear alex,

could you please reconfirm your phone number for me.the number 447031159988 you gave me ,i think is wrong.i have tried calling you severally ,but it does not seem to be working.i even out of annoyance i gave it to deborah to call you one day,and she came back to tell me the same story,so please if this one is not good, kindly give us another number that we can be reaching you.

i called barrister kosongo after i read your mail, and he was very furious and full of annoyance with me,but i pleaded with him that there could be a mistake with the london people.

what you need when you send a western union money transfer is the control number and a text question, and not a code number as barrister kosongo told me this morning,he tild me that the western union money transfer at sococe 2 pleateaux said there was no money sent, that they have seached there computer and there was no money from london in the name of alex king,so please hurry to the place you said you made the payment and tell them that what you need here is a control number and a text question to claim the money down here, and not a code of any kind.

alex please for gods sake do not allow this to delay any further ,i am really confused this morning when i call this barrister and he was telling me all this.

awaiting for your urgent response.

charles

Wed, 29 Oct 2003 11:25am: How much fun is this? I want to hear some angry voicemails!

Charles,

My phone should be working, but sometimes it goes straight to my voicemail - this could be a problem with my telephone company. If this happens leave a message - I will check my voicemail every 10 minutes or so.

Now that you mention it, there was a text question which I though was for security at this end. Maybe I need to send that to Barrister Kosongo?

There are so many numbers on the documents they gave me, and I can't get my scanner to work so that I can send this to you, to check for me. I have given him the ones I think look like what he wants. Can you see the earlier form I gave you? It looks a little like this.

I hope that Mr. Kosongo get the money ok - I was very careful about sending this and it is all the money I have. Please call him when he gets back from the office to make sure he has it all.

god bless,

Alex

Dear Mr King,

All these "PRTR" code of A/S200335721455438-B and the
large TNTCN number 701-2255-65628 in sending westner
Union money transfer do not matter, what matters is
the transfer control number, the text question and the
name of the sender.

The western union office where you claimed you send
the money can not see the money in the computer
control system with the control number which you gave.

Please contact Mr Charles and regulate this with him
and get back to me, because I can not be going to make
a withdraw of money that I do not have a correct
claiming datas.

Call me on this tel 22507 902 337 and give me the
correct information.

Yours faithfully,

Barrister Stanley Kosongo.

Wed, 29 Oct 2003 12:52pm: I spoke to Stanley on the phone twice, what do you know - he's a different guy altogether! Tried to record the conversation, but the line's too bad. So I send this one to Stanley

Mr. Kosongo,

I have been frantically trying to call you, but have only been able to speak to you twice and every time I get cut off. I hope the lord loves the internet more than the phone system and sees this message safely to you.

I have sent the money as you requested and now I am concerned that you have not got it. Where has it gone? I was trying to explain to you on the phone that there are several offices in Ivory Coast printed on the form, perhaps they sent it to the wrong place? I will check at my Western Union office.

Please call me. As I said, sometimes my number goes to voice mail please leave a message and I will try to call you again.

Alex King

Wed, 29 Oct 2003 12:55pm: And just a quick one to Charles, keep him sweet

Charles,

We have more problems than before now. I spoke to Barrister Kosongo and he still has not got the money. I hate it say it, but looking at the receipt again the man at the Western Union office may have put the wrong address. I will go to the office and check again.

I hope you and Deborah are keeping well, I will try to hurry as much as I can - trust me, my brother.

Alex

1:54pm: Have I scared him off? Or have his accounts been closed? I'll try again.

Dear Mr. Kosongo,

I still have not heard from you - can you call me immediatly?

I have been to the Western Union office again, and have to tell you that the person at the desk has made a mistake, even though I clearly told him the address was PLATEAUX BOULEVARD LAIRILLE. He has actually sent it to the office at YOPOUGON NIANGON. Can you please check this office? The full address is:

SIEPA
YOPOUGON NIANGON
SUD A GAUCHE TERMINUS 27
ABDIJAN
08BP1442
COTE D'IVOIRE

thank you,

Alex King

dear alex,

the barrister including myself have been very upset over this your issue of sending money,in the first instance, that is not how to send money through western union money transfer.if you send money through western union, they will use there hand to give you the control number and the text question you have to fill it by yourself,so the point of saying there are alot of numbers on the paper they gave you should not arise iq quite abstract.

i will tell you at this point to recall the money in which ever western union office you have sent it from in london ,and resend it with the text question and the control number that is all one need to collect money from a western union office,at least my father did send money severally to me while i was in germany, and i dont know why this should be different,so please recall it before the end of the day.it does not also take upto one hour to recall money sent by western union, then you can resend it the way i advice you.

waiting patiently for your mail.

best regards and god bless

i hate any thing disturbing my humble self unnessaserily, please recall this money and resend it just the way i have adviced you.all you need to take from the western union office were you are sending the money is the control number and the text question that is all,and you send it to the attorney to pick the money that is all.

Dear Mr. Alex,

I called the Yopougon office and they still informed
me that there was no such transfer from London.

Kindly note that western union office has one central
computer system that we a transfer is being made to a
country it will be seen in their system with the
transfer control number used in sending the money.

Either the money was sent to Plateaux or Yopougon
Niangon with any good transfer control number, any
western union office will see the money in the system,
so please stop asking me to start going to Yopougon
knowing fully well that you ever sent any money.

Get to Mr Charles and his sister, when ever you people
are ready for the court affidavit you let me know.

Yours faithfully,

Barrister Stanley Kosongo.
